I'm a certified teacher with over 20 years of classroom experience, and I write both fiction and creative nonfiction as well as academic essays.When I'm not writing, I teach literature and writing—with a focus on AP courses and any kind of application writing. I work with students from middle school through graduate school using a research-backed mentor text approach. I also coach creative writers in both poetry and prose.My goal is to provide you excellent service at a fair price, and to offer the personalized attention needed to produce powerful writing and understanding.My students have gotten into great summer writing programs like Interlochen, Iowa Young Writers' Studio, and the NYTimes Summer Academy, as well as undergraduate programs at Duke, NYU, Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Northwestern, and the University of Pennsylvania. They have also been admitted to prestigious graduate, medical, nursing, and dental schools.I offer one-on-one sessions each week and I'm piloting very small group Writing Intensives on Sundays. This is a small, guided writing intensive for juniors who want to get ahead before the stress of senior year. I include tailored feedback on every draft
between sessions.
Pilot Special! $400 for 5 classes ($80 each) with personalized offline feedback included. Class will be capped at 4 students for focused attention. Full attendance expected. Sundays 7–8pm EST / 4-5pm PST.
